Soyganic Foods is a South Australian company founded in 1994 by Dr. Joe Terminello. He is a nutritionally trained and aware doctor, who has for many years been interested and also studied the effect of diet on disease. Often he manufactured a variety of milk, gluten and yeast free products for personal and individual use and provided friends and relatives with his valuable recipes. The mission of the company was to address food intolerances and in fact was the first company to commercially produce a soy yoghurt and soy ice cream.
As the demand arose in other states the company moved to commercial premises at Newton in South Australia. From there health food stores in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania were supplied as distributors were appointed in the above order. Approaches from the supermarket chains began in December 1994, this prompted us to improved and expand our resources, machinery and production plant. Finally in October 1996 independent supermarkets were directly supplied though statewide distributors adding Coles, Woolworths, Foodland and Bi-Lo supermarkets to our long list of satisfied clients.
In January 2000, expansion was ssen to be an essential part of our service to our growing client list and after considerable study Soyganic Foods moved to its current address at 50 Barnett Avenue, Glynde. The location was ideal for Soyganic Foods' purpose built facility and newly acquired modern processing technology. The move has made it possible for Soyganic Foods to not only supply high quality soya based products to the Australian market, but also to the Asia Pacific region from where several enquiries had come.
